When is the pool open each year?
The pool typically operates from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Additional nights and weekends may be added after Labor Day, staff and weather permitting.
What amenities are available at the pool?
WSSC features two swimming pools, a volleyball court, Gaga pit, infant pool & splash pad, slides and a diving board, as well as concessions and a grass field for family recreation.
How do I become a member of Western Springs Pool?
Membership information and registration details are available on the Memberships page. New members must complete an application and may be placed on a waitlist if non-resident spots are not currently available.
Who can become a member of Western Springs Pool?
Memberships are available to Western Springs residents. A limited number of non-resident memberships may be offered if space allows and are subject to a waitlist.
Are there any fees or documentation needed to join?
New members often must upload birth certificates for children and proof of residency. Non-residents may be placed on a waitlist. Returning members have different guidelines for renewal.
Are membership fees refundable once the season starts?
Memberships will not be refunded once the pool opens for the season (typically by Memorial Day weekend).
Do I need a membership card to enter the pool?
Yes. All members must present a valid membership card for entry each time they visit the pool.
Who receives a membership card?
Each approved member, including children, listed on the account will receive their own membership card.
Can I use my membership card for someone else?
No. Membership cards are non-transferable and may only be used by the individual named on the card.
What happens if I forget my membership card?
Members who forget their card may be asked to verify their identity at the front desk. Entry is not guaranteed without proper identification.
Is there a fee to replace a lost membership card?
Yes. A replacement fee may be charged for lost or damaged cards. Fees are listed at the front desk or on the Membership page.
Can I bring guests?
All memberships include a 6 complimentary guest passes, and additional passes can be purchased. Members must accompany guests at check-in.
Is there a pass for nannies or caretakers?
Yes — a Nanny Pass allows a caregiver to bring member children to the pool only when accompanying those children
Can a nanny or caregiver use my member pass?
No. Nanny passes must use their own pass, and not present any other membership ID when checking in.
We have more than one Nanny, can they share a pass?
Yes, the pass is good for one caretaker entry, it does not always need to be the same caretaker.
Where do I pick up my nanny pass?
The Nanny Pass is not a physical pass, it is an alert on your account that the front desk can see upon check in.
What swim programs are available?
Programs include private and group swim lessons, a swim team, adult fitness classes, dive club, and water polo.
Do I have to be a member to participate in the swim programs?
Yes — swim lessons, swim team, dive club, and water polo are available to members only.
What kind of events does the pool host?
Social events like Food Truck Friday Nights, Movie Nights, and Family Fun Days are held throughout the summer.
Can I host a private event or party at the pool?
Members may host parties at the pool.
Can I bring outside food or drink to the pool?
Yes, outside food and drink can be brought in. Glass containers are not permitted. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted with the exception of posted Food Truck Fridays
